Saving a Prince's Life
Prince Dara Shikoh, the scholarly heir to the Mughal throne, was poisoned with tiger whiskers by his brother Aurangzeb. The only cure required rare herbs. Despite the Mughal state's past hostility, the Guru sent the medicine from his personal botanical gardens, saying, 'A man does not cut down the tree that gives him shade.' The Prince was saved.
