The Disowning of Ram Rai
In Aurangzeb’s court, Ram Rai was asked to explain a verse in the Adi Granth that seemed to offend Muslims. Fearing for his life, Ram Rai changed the word 'Mussalman' to 'Beiman' (dishonest). When news reached the Guru, he was heartbroken. He declared that a son who fears a mortal king more than Truth could not be his successor, disowning him immediately.
