The Duel with Painde Khan
Painde Khan, a general raised and trained by the Guru, defected to the Mughals and challenged his master. In the ensuing battle, the Guru allowed Painde Khan to strike first twice. When the Guru finally struck, he dismounted to shade his dying former student from the sun and prayed for his soul.
