The Eternal Guruship

On his last day on earth, after being wounded by an assassin, the Guru gathered his Sikhs. He placed five copper coins and a coconut before the Guru Granth Sahib, bowed, and commanded: 'The Word is the Guru from this day forward.' He ended the line of living human Gurus, ensuring that the light of the Gurus would forever live in the Shabad (Scripture) and the Sangat (Community).
