The Meeting with Baba Sri Chand
Baba Sri Chand, the ascetic son of Guru Nanak, visited the Guru and mockingly asked why he grew such a long beard. Guru Ram Das Ji humbly knelt and replied, 'To wipe the feet of holy men like you.' Stunned by this lack of ego, Sri Chand admitted that it was this very humility that made Ram Das the true successor to his father's throne.
