The Summons to Delhi
Emperor Aurangzeb, suspicious of the Guru’s influence and his aid to Dara Shikoh, summoned him to Delhi. To avoid a direct conflict that would lead to bloodshed, the Guru decided not to go himself. Instead, he sent his eldest son, Ram Rai, with strict instructions never to compromise the integrity of the Sikh scriptures.
